Courses & Conferences

As part of our commitment to nurturing believers, we want to take every opportunity to equip people, through the Word of God, to help them grow in their relationship with God, and in their fulfilment of everything He is calling them to do. Apart from the teaching that we bring on Sunday mornings and through homegroups, some of the systematic ways in which we seek to do this are as follows:

The Vision and Commitment Course

The Vision and Commitment Course is a teaching program that we hold at least three times a year, usually one evening a week for thirteen weeks. It is particularly for those who feel that God may be joining them to us as a congregation and who want to find out more about us. It’s an opportunity for us to share what we believe (our vision) and how we outwork what we believe together (our commitment to the vision). Subjects covered include:

  • The gospel
  • What it really means to know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord
  • The person and work of the Holy Spirit
  • Growing in our relationship with God and with one another
  • God’s purpose for the church
  • Leadership and gifting in the church (including the roles of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, and elders and deacons)

Though particularly for those who are thinking of joining us as a congregation, the course is open to anyone. Whether you are a new believer in Christ, have known the Lord for many years or are simply searching for truth, we know that what's presented in this course has all the potential to transform your life radically to the glory of God.

Please contact the church office to find out when the next Vision and Commitment course will start.

Evangelism Training

We believe that evangelism - sharing with others the good news that, through faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, we can experience the goodness of God now and forever - should be ‘natural’ for all Christians who are filled with the Holy Spirit, conscious of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and concerned for the lost in the world.

However, we are also aware that we are required to prepare ourselves to share this good news: "Always be prepared to give an answer to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15).

We therefore run classes from time to time to help Christians fully understand and express clearly what God has done in their lives and what He desires to do for others. These classes also provoke and inspire participants to break out of their ‘comfort zones’ and to impact the lives of those around them – and beyond – with this wonderful good news.

Seminars, Workshops and Conferences

From time to time we run short courses, seminars, workshops and conferences on a variety of different subjects relevant to our life and growth as Christians. Previous subjects have included:

  • Marriage
  • Godly Parenting
  • Worship
  • Singleness
  • The Grace of God
